Technological development has a regular impact on modern agriculture. Thanks to its first-class researchers and professionals, Dagan Automation frequently engages in practical R&D in various fields: Energy, lighting, materials, plant physiology and more. The R&D activity at Dagan Automation is divided into two parts: on the one hand, the company regularly carries out studies for improving products, manufacturing processes and customer service; and, on the other, it performs studies that are requested by customers, usually by farmers. At the customer’s request, the company could conduct tests on strains of vegetables or other crops in order to examine their suitability to the customer’s specific growth conditions or to a given market. In many other cases, the customer may wish to develop new and interesting products from a particular crop in order to get ahead of his competitors or produce a more colorful/appetizing/attractive product. In such a case, the company’s Chief Agronomist sets up an experiment with an appropriate statistical format in the farmer’s field, collects and analyzes data, conducts a statistical analysis, and draws the appropriate conclusions. The summary report, with the company’s recommendations, is then submitted to the customer for immediate implementation.
